Books

Infinite Sky by C.J. Flood: A lovely coming of age/first love story. And although you know right from the beginning that someone is going to die, the suspense is kept until it happens. But it’s more about how the protagonists deal with the traumatic aftermath that makes the book a small gem.

The Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes: What to say about the winner of the Man Booker Prize in 2011? I liked it but also found it quite difficult. Maybe because one looks into a mirror and dissects his/her own memories? The way we look at the past is always colored by emotions. And the more we talk about it, the different it becomes. Food for thought!

Easy by Tammara Webber: OMG, I just loved it. This is one guilty pleasure read. Another one of my YA novels which is a genre that’s not for everyone. Kept me until the middle of the night because I couldn’t put it down. I finished it in two days and now I regret not dragging it out a bit more.

Breakable by Tammara Webber: When I found out that Easy got a companion novel, I was disappointed at first. Why re-write a good book from the guy’s POV? So great that it was more than this. A look back on why and how he became the bad boy, told in alternating chapters of before and after. As an added bonus a kind of epilogue. Which did it for me, still from now on I will skip the companion novels. Better listen to Lainey on this.
