Books

When a Crocodile Eats the Sun: A Memoir of Africa by Peter Godwin: A haunting memoir of Zimbabwe under its current president and the downfall from stable and prospering country to one into poverty. Also some very interesting family history coming to light. Really enjoyed the book if you can something about a topic like this.

I Feel Bad About My Neck: And Other Thoughts On Being a Woman by Nora Ephron: Thoughts about all aspects of life, sometimes weird (the love for cabbage strudel), more often insightful. Laugh out loud moments got interrupted by head nodding, when I couldn’t agree more. The worst part about aging is loosing your friends. So enjoy your youth, you will never be as young as you are today.

We Were Liars by E. Lockhart: After an accident a girl comes to term with its aftermath. Great book, fast read and a totally unexpected ending (for me at least)!

A House in the Sky by Amanda Lindhout: A Canadian girl travels the world and while doing so gets kidnapped in Somalia. Plain stupid to go there and but the ordeal she suffers is staggering. Her travel descriptions in the first half of the book are vivid and colorful. Makes you want to pack your bag and go.
