Not That Kind of Girl: A Young Woman Tells You What She’s “Learned” by Lena Dunham: Not quite sure what to think of it but maybe that’s the age difference. She is in her 20s and I am in my 40s. Whatever she learned has nothing to do with my life. Also I cannot get my head around all her angsty stuff and therapy overload that she has from an early age on. She sounds like a veritable nutcase and is probably therefore successful.

Matched by Ally Condie: A YA book that I had lying around for a while already. I wonder why I haven’t started with it earlier? It’s a very easy and engaging read in another dystopian world. Nonetheless even  though the concept is well-known it’s an entertaining book. It took me a bit over three days to finish it, the characters are well drawn and likable. Trouble is that this is again a trilogy. So of course I have started right away with the second book.

The Wall: Rome’s Greatest Frontier by Alistair Moffat: I picked this up while in Edinburgh and astonishingly I never put it on the pile of ‘still-have-to-reads’ but started almost right away. And what a revelation. Alistair Moffat knows how to spin his yarn. From the first arrival of the Romans in Britain to the building of the wall and finally the best way to see what’s left of it, this is one interesting book. But only if you are into history, if not it would probably be a snooze feast. History comes to life here and it’s all underlined with facts and finds.

Crossed by Ally Condie: The second book in the Matched series and it continues the saga of Cassie and Ky. Interesting enough to keep me coming back to read the third part but if you skip it you haven’t missed much. Still as far as dystopian worlds go this is one of the more interesting ones. It’s a quick and easy read where you don’t need to concentrate too much to keep up with the story.
