Off to Lyon

I haven’t been on vacation for a while and this weekend is the start to an abundance of holidays. Within the next month I will travel twice in Europe and once to Asia and I can’t tell you how much I look forward to moving around again. To put my head in the proverbial clouds and out of the daily grind. Not that I don’t like my work but I am not made to sit in front of a computer the whole day and work with Excel spreadsheets. Walking around in a new city, where you clearly walk a lot more than you would ever do at home, or trekking around in a countryside totally different from what you know, is soothing and energizing at the same time.

So off I go today and start with a city trip to Lyon where we are planning on sampling everything the French cuisine has to offer. Yours, Pollybert

PS: Have you noticed my sparkly sneakers? I have decided to make the world a brighter place by loosing a little glitter with every step I take!

  1. Hello Pollybert. I travel to Lyon from time to time and just arrived Lyon tonight. Yes, I know it’s 1st of May and no public transport around Lyon.

For the benefit of your trip, I would suggest you go to the top of Fourvierre. From there you have a nice view of the city. It’s magical to watch the sunset and see the city lights come on. Behind the Basilica Notre Dame at the top of Fourvierre, there is an excellent restaurant. If you can, please book a table close to the window. It’s a lovely view from there at night.

Please check out Place Bellecour and the city centre, lots of nice restaurants. I would recommend also Parc de la tete d’Or.

I do wish you a good holiday. Please do not hesitate to contact me.

P.S. the sparkly sneakers look cool.

    • Thanks Mosh for these great tips for Lyon! Unfortunately we are already leaving today, so a sunset on top of Fourvière is out of the question. I will try to find the parc though.
