Kissing Ted Callahan (and Other Guys) by Amy Spalding: The pains of growing up and fitting in. Riley and Reid make a pact about helping each other finding a bf/gf and keeping a journal about the road to it. Once the journal gets lost though nothing is easy anymore (not that it was before though). Entertaining read about teens in California, quick and easy to read.

All Fall Down by Jennifer WeinerBearbeiten: Be careful what you wish for! Isn’t that something we always come back to? Allison has it all, the husband, the daughter, a job she loves and a house in the suburbs. But is that really enough? Once you look behind the surface the perfection starts to crack, her husband sleeps in the guest room, the daughter has nerve-racking temper tantrums and her father has Alzheimer. With that on her plate is it any wonder that she starts popping pills? Engrossing read!

Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson: When your best and only friend suddenly leaves town at the beginning of summer, what are you to do? It’s up to Emily to make friends on her own and with the help of a list she is able to leave her comfort zone. The friendship aspect was a bit weird but I liked the idea with the list to try something new. Really have to think about using one too!

November 9 by Colleen Hoover: Quite a while ago I read Hopeless from this author which kind of follows the same pattern. Her books are all YA literature and so far all main characters have been damaged in one way or another. I liked the idea of a “One Day” scenario but in the end it differs a lot from it. And while it certainly helps the story it’s all a bit much. Still, it’s a quick and entertaining read. Since the target audience is a lot younger I am sure it’s popular with them.
