Returned on Monday from Skopje and had such a lovely time there. My friend picked us up from the airport and brought us to the lovely Hotel Skala. It is set on the mount Vodno (don’t make the mistake to call the Vodno hill, it is after all over 1000m high). We enjoyed our breakfast on their terrace.
As you can see blue sky and sunshine. What more could we ask for? We explored the city on the Saturday, lots of new buildings built in neo-classic style. Few old buildings, most of it has been destroyed in the 1963 earthquake. Sunday was spent visiting the church St. Panteleimon from the 12th century and then going to the Matka canyon. We didn’t go for a boat trip, but had lunch with a perfect scenery. In the end found it very funny the we brought along a bikini. No chance for swimming there and we would have made a spectacle out of us if we had dared.
Now that I am back in Vienna, I try my best to enjoy myself here. Am doing that by going out a lot. Tonight will go dancing with my friends. We will attend “Thirty Dancing”, best party in town!
Starting to prepare myself for my trip to Morocco with a book called “The sheltering sky” by Paul Bowles. So far so good, am not much into the marriage/adultery story but love the descriptions of the scenery. Also need a recommendation for a book on Venice. Will be going there at the beginning of November for a long weekend. Don’t be jealous that I am traveling a lot now. Haven’t had vacation in almost a year. Until later, Pollybert
