What I learned in London

Traveling with friends gives one the chance to learn new things about oneself. Since it was only a short weekend I am not sure if I can come with a lot but bear with me. Yours, Pollybert

.) Apparently I have lost the taste for shopping. Who would have thought?

.) Never ever share a queen-size bed with a friend who is almost double in size and snores to boot.

.) Pub fare is grub fare. On our only evening to grab some nice dinner we ended up with a miserable meal. Definitely need to plan ahead next time!

.) Visiting a church during mass elevates the sightseeing into higher spheres.

.) Gin & Tonic always helps or as Winston Churchill said: “The gin and tonic has saved more Englishmen’s lives, and minds, than all the doctors in the Empire

.) Choose wisely with whom you make city trips. A city is best discovered on foot so make sure everyone can walk.

.) The London tube is like a maze with extensive walkways in-between. Us Viennese are spoilt here.

.) A hearty breakfast helps to make up for a disappointing dinner.

.) I am happiest when I can visit a book store. No matter in what form. In that way I still like to shop.
