Breakfast at 15 süße Minuten

A new year starts with a new breakfast place. In a way I feel as if we are moving more and more away from the center to the outskirts of the city. 15 süße Minuten is at least near the main railway station. So in case you are traveling, it’s just around the corner. Which makes sense, since it’s not so special to go out of your way for a breakfast here.

The pastry shop (and it’s focus is on pastry after all according to its name, even if there was non except for a forlorn chocolate cake on this Saturday morning. Honestly, rather disappointing.) has a rather nice seating area. I loved the green look and feel from the climbing plants which were draped all over the ceiling.

The menu is extensive and it takes a while to peruse it. There are a couple of items on it which appear totally different. Like the French toast on salad with bacon, avocado, fried egg, and feta cheese. That’s a rather filling description already. And the plate which settled in front of my companion looked as big as it sounded.

We were not sure where to strawberry got lost to appear on his plate, but never mind. I liked that the avocado was not a mash but still in its original form. The toast was really copious and rather intense in its taste. The different flavors of bacon, feta, and balsamic were all strong and made for an heady combination. My friend was not overly impressed. It was okay, but nothing to write home about.

Now the Spanish tortilla, on the other hand, lacked all kind of flavor. The egg mixture was so bland that I am sure not one grain of salt had touched it. There was not one hint of any roasting flavor, the omelette was as boring as piece of cardboard. Underwhelming to say the least.

Unfortunately I cannot say anything about the pastries, since nothing was available. The breakfast quality is okay but not overly impressive. So there is really no need for a detour to try 15 süße Minuten. But if you are in the area, why not. Yours, Pollybert
