After my last vacation to Rhodes in June I promised myself I would get in better shape for my next vacation. The next vacation is here now, I am leaving for Marbella/Andalusia tomorrow. The state of improvement waits to be seen, but I have a sneaking suspicion that I will not post any bikini pictures on my blog. So there you have it, there won’t be any submission of evidence here on this blog. But we all know I worked hard, including going for another run on Monday.
So maybe it was a bit slower than usual, but I went with a friend and we are trying to stay motivated. This is super important for the coming months of cold weather. Just doing my best…
Monday evening I also finished the ‘The Book Thief‘ by Markus Zusak. You should have seen me on the couch, was crying for last 30 minutes while reading it. What a story, it goes straight to your heart. Can’ wait for the film to come out next year. The trailer looks already amazing.
This morning while waiting for the washing machine to do its work I finished another book, ‘Not that kind of Girl’ by Catherine Alliott. That’s the other book I got in Rhodes at the hotel. I have never read anything from Alliott before, but this is chick lit at its best. In my opinion she is at the same level as Marian Keyes or Jane Green. Lovely book and lovely story, and I just know the person who is waiting to get her hands on this book. A ‘new’ chick lit author is always welcome among other ‘things’.
In the last days I started another book on my kindle, ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’ from Douglas Adams. While I have the paperback at home since years, I never came around to actually read the book. Now I thought why not and not only because it is the first book an my kindle in alphabetical order. So I will bring my kindle with me on vacation but I am still allowed to choose to books to bring with me. Can’t wait to get to that tonight.
More from Spain in the next days. Yours, Pollybert
PS: If you are interested: I changed the book page into my reading list for 2013 and it is updated regularly!
have fun with the book, hitchhikers guide is one of the best books ever written !!!!!!! and do not forget, don’t panic :-)
Will try :-)
