Slammed by Colleen Hoover: Young love with some unbelievable circumstances. Still a fun read (although tragic), quick and ideal for the beach.
Point of Retreat by Colleen Hoover: Young love part II. Of course now there have to be misunderstandings and even more tragic circumstances. Still, lovely characters and again a quick read. I enjoyed it a lot. On part III of the series, called “This Girl” which is actually part I from his POV, I had to pass.
All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr: A book about war and love and hope and the choices we make. Wonderful and thought-provoking. Couldn’t put it down!
The Maze Runner by James Dashner: I just finished it this morning and don’t know what to think about it. Especially in the light that this is again a 4-5 book series (I haven’t looked it up yet) and I want to read the rest. I really want to know what will happen. But then again the story is interesting, the concept of the maze well-chosen and the characters likeable. But the writing is simple and the most characters stay one-dimensional and the weird emotion mumble-jumble a bit much. Especially from the main character Thomas. Still, I will go on reading.
