The tiny Café le Marché opened over a year ago. Due to its size it can easily be overlooked. Once you have been there though you will never forget it. I passed it one Saturday morning and the same afternoon I was back to give it a go.
Why is this post still about breakfast then? Because Saturday and Sunday breakfast is served all day (almost). Isn’t that absolutely fantastic? No more early mornings to get the breakfast that you want.
We ordered the avocado toast, served with a poached egg, Greek cheese, capers and sun-dried tomatoes. The bread was crunchy and the whole arrangement yummy.
I was in the mood for something different and pleased to note that the menu offers at least some varieties to the usual breakfast fare. I went for the porridge with salmon, egg and vegetables. Yeah, this combination didn’t work for me. Don’t get me wrong, I like the idea. But I found the porridge was too cold (right out of the fridge) and therefore everything else on the plate cooled off super fast. This would better work with room temperature, maybe even warm porridge. Not sure if I try it again though.
Because the chocolate cake I took home with me was delicious. And why order something that might not be great a second time when there is so much else to choose from? The menu is very tempting, I want to order every single item. This will definitely be my new go to place. Yours, Pollybert

Update: Since it is in my area and I loved what I ate there, I went of course back. It is now called No Panic Coffee but serves most of the same dishes. Except the porridge and the Eggs Benedict.
we are currently sitting at the Cafe right there because I found ghis recommendation while searching for the best place in Vienna to eat eggs benedict, and guess what…NO EGGS BENEDICT ON THE MENUE!!! I am so dissapointed.
Have a great breakfast and enjoy! It’s so good there!
Just read the rest that they have no eggs Benedict at the moment. I understand your disappointment. That’s really too bad. But the avocado bread ist good as well.
