Motto am Fluss is a staple for all kinds of meals. Or coffee, or drinks, or just sitting and looking out over the water. The location is fantastic. Downtown but next to the channel and the food is consistently on a high level. Unfortunately I didn’t have a reservation on the morning I was there and was therefore happy to get a table, albeite in the sun.
Since it was rather warm we decided to keep the breakfast to a minimum. Which is a shame with so many options available. In the end we settled on a soft-boiled egg with lemon-pepper salt, chive and bread sticks, as well as scrambled eggs with sweet-pepper marmalade.
That egg is just enough to keep you going on a hot day. Perfect for a lazy start in the morning without feeling like you are overindulging.
But also the scrambled eggs were rather a small portion and therefore just right-sized for this weather. The eggs came with lettuce and a slice of bread and could have been a bit fluffier to be honest.
But the coffee was good and the service, if not attentive so at least obliging. Water was refilled whenever we asked for it. Overall you can’t go wrong with Motto am Fluss, it’s always a safe bet. Yours, Pollybert
