A weekend in Prague

Traveling just before Christmas seems like a good idea, until you arrive at your destination. In this case I took the train to Prague and stayed for two days. The city is always full of tourists but even more so at this time of the year. Not only were there international tourist everywhere, but also numerous day tourists finished their last minute shopping. Never mind though, Prague is beautiful nonetheless. And it was fun to see the city dressed up in festive lights.

I kept my sightseeing to a minimum since I have been to Prague already a couple of times. The Prague Castle, as well as going up the Astronomical Clock Tower were not on my list this year. I did go of course to the Old Town Square and took some pictures of the clock from below.

But of course I walked to the Charles Bridge and to get at least a picture of the bridge and the castle in the back.

I was most impressed with all the buildings though. Maybe I never really looked closely before, or maybe I just hadn’t realized it. But Prague does look a lot better than Vienna. The old town has so many beautiful houses, most of them in excellent shape. I am not sure what is original and what has been renovated, but no matter. It does look amazing. Yours, Pollybert
