Books

The Chase (Briar U Book 1) by Elle Kennedy: Despite loving all the other books in the Off-Campus series ‘The Chase’ disappointed me. Set at the same university and with two secondary characters of the previous books I still thought it missed something. There was definitely less spark and fun between Summer and Fitz than in the other books. Nonetheless I stay up one night and finished it. It’s a fun read after all.

The Risk (Briar U Book 2) by Elle Kennedy: Book 2 in the Briar U series was so much fun again. Brenna is such a feisty character and when she hooks up with a hockey player from a rival school, the fun begins. What I missed in the first book of the series was back at number two. The characters are funny and the book has a couple of lol moments. It is also longer so there is more time for character development. The Risk was really a great read so I can’t wait for the next one in the series.

The Play (Briar U Book 3) by Elle Kennedy: I am really missing out on a lot of sleep since starting this series. This one as well kept me up at night, so that I could just read one more chapter. Demi and Hunter have excellent chemistry and their interactions are so much fun. The book touches other topics like narcissism and depression, so it is not all fun and play. There was not a lot about hockey in the book and weirdly enough I missed it. Maybe book 4 will bring back some more.

The Dare (Briar U Book 4) by Elle Kennedy: The last one in the series was a bit of a let down after book 2 and 3. While the idea of the dare was fun and well executed, the sizzling left the story somewhere in the middle of the book. The problems were weird and the only two gay characters got basically a one-liner mention. Still, I am sad to let this series go. It was a wonderful entertainment for a week and it kept me up for a good portion of it.
