A road trip around the North Coast – from Lochinver to John o’ Groats (part 1)

Leaving Tarradh Guesthouse with another full Scottish breakfast in the belly, we set out again on our North Coast tour. A waterfall was the starting point for day two of the NC500 road trip. After our beautiful drive from Gairloch to Lochinver on day one (see here and here) I expected a lot. The Clashnessie Falls are a great start for your day. The short walk from the car park to the falls definitely warms you up. To see the fall in motion.

We left the Clashnessie Falls and counted our blessings, having escaped the worst of a sudden downpour. A couple of minutes later the landscape looked different again and it was time for another photo stop, and then another and another in quick sequence.

All of a sudden we arrived at a spectacular beach. I really wonder how this looks in summer and if it is ever warm enough to go swimming. Because doesn’t this look fantastic? To get an all around view, click here.

Actually there was one beach after another, and of course one stop after another to take more pictures. The North of Scotland is really spoiled by all its shores. The NC500 was getting better and better. Yours, Pollybert
