Despite everything lunch is still the most important meal of the day while stuck in an office. Except that nowadays, everyone who is allowed to go into the office, is already lucky. Still, lunch improves everything. Even the now crowd pleasing office day. So when XO Grill popped onto my radar, I convinced my colleagues to head out for lunch. It’s still the best choice to eat a burger right away.
On said day the weather was miserable but with no precipitation. Insofar the right weather for eating outside in winter. We arrived at XO Grill, ordered our burgers (no fries here), and waited outside for our lunch. Surprisingly, there was no line-up.
After getting something to drink next door at Ammersin (which really has a spectacular selection), we moved the required 50m to eat in front of Café Sperl. Honestly, it makes me very happy that some restaurants have not removed their garden furniture. Because you need to eat this thing while being stationary. Also, you need to eat the burger hot.
The question is now if it was all worth it? And the answer is a wholehearted YES. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten a better burger. Everything, really everything, was amazing. The bun comes from Joseph Brot, the beef from old milk cows, the ketchup is home-made, instead of Cheddar cheese Taleggio embraces the meat, and mustard caviar rounds up the flavor explosion. A WOW experience!
