Street Art London

Street art is all around you while walking through London. I just needed to keep my eyes open and there was another mural, facade, or sculpture to see. London is amazing that way, and I love how street art here really makes you stop for a moment and take a good look. That is why it is called art after all, and isn’t it great that there is no need for a museum? Sometimes just a stroll around town is all that is necessary to enjoy a cultural moment.

This beautifully painted house stands on the site of the former Curtain Theatre. Romeo and Juliet was performed here sometime in the late 1590s. I love how Juliet is looking down at Romeo climbing up the trellis.

I am not sure if this can be considered street art, but to me it looked like art. This praying woman at the corner of the house and the decoration on top, which looks like a mitre, caught my attention. A lot of thought clearly went into this painting on the corner of Portobello and Lancaster Road in Notting Hill.

Definitely not street art, but art that is on the street. Look at this cute corgi we found near Buckingham Palace.

Next time I am in London I want to follow a map and take in more of these amazing murals. I am glad that there are some websites dedicated to tagging the street art and updating their map. Yours, Pollybert
