Road trip USA – more impressions from along the way

So many of my pictures from this trip didn’t make it in the various posts, but they are also important to the story of our adventure. I have gathered them here and let you be the judge of it. Yours, Pollybert

The amount of national pride in form of balloons felt almost intimidating. I wasn’t sure if that was already in preparation for the Independence day, but we visited in the beginning of June.

We passed this immersive experience, in partnership with Gwyneth Paltrow on the way to Little Island. I am not sure what ‘The Forest Within’ was about nor if it was worthwhile. I just found it funny that it existed at all.

it doesn’t get more New York than this @The Forest Within

A bunch of airplanes next to an airport in Minnesota.

I am not sure if I have seen anywhere else in the world a plaque commemorating a spot, where once a religious service had been held. This felt a bit like a ‘WTF?’ moment.

One of many political declarations along the way.

Wall detail behind the bar in Chicago. The keels looked great, I just wasn’t sure what the connection with the rooftop bar was.

Milk ice cream with sprinkles, so basically sugar with more sugar and a bit of color.

The rainbow bridge, built in 1940 and opened in 1941, is connecting Canada and the USA since more than 80 years.

Leaving Little Island via the boardwalk didn’t feel like a New York experience.

Imagine being stuck in this tiny capsule for more than a minute, thankfully it was never manned.

This motorcycle looks like the World Trade Center transportation center. Quite impressive really!

Not sure who exactly was commemorated, but I do wonder why the memorial needed to be fenced in.

Civil War Memorial @Geneva-on-the-Lake

The new transportation hub looks like a bird about to take flight .

My image about NYC in one picture: a yellow cab, steam from the gully, and someone with a water bottle.

Next time I have to ride on the Staten Island ferry.

Such a fun night with on this roof top. Great music, Gin tonic, what else is there to ask for?

Little Island looks more like Little Hill. Lots of ups and downs on the island.

The new World Trade Center is actually quite good looking! Love the mirroring on a sunny day.

Not sure what was the plan behind this, maybe in preparation of the National Puerto Rican Day Parade?

This dog was walking around in boots and I am still wondering if he was sick or had a pedicure?

Love those two buildings, especially the right one with the dainty balconies in front. It has a very European feel.

With more time I would have sat here, reading my new books which I had bought at Strand.

Madison Square Park @NYC

Not sure if this message comes a little too late as there are quite a lot of books banned in the US. There is even a list of these. Quite unbelievable in a way that this is happening in the year 2025.

powerful message @New York Public Library

The Grand Central train station is beautiful building and certainly looks impressive. No really sure if the flag is helping with the overall impression.
